State Bank was established on January 1, 1937, under the original name Security State Bank. Over the years, it underwent several name changes and acquisitions. On December 31, 1959, the main office was relocated to 25 North Chestnut Avenue in New Hampton, Iowa. The institution changed its name to Security State Bank & Trust Company on September 24, 2011, when it also acquired State Bank & Trust Company in Waverly, Iowa. Subsequently, it changed its name to State Bank on March 1, 2014. On March 7, 2001, State Bank acquired Security State Bank in Calmar, Iowa. The institution continued to operate as State Bank until August 16, 2019, when it merged with and became part of Fidelity Bank & Trust in Dubuque, Iowa.
