St. Charles Bank & Trust Company, National Association, has a history that dates back to its establishment on September 21, 1987, under the original name Hinsbrook Bank and Trust. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes and expansions. On February 8, 1988, the main office relocated to Willowbrook, Illinois, and in 1995 it acquired full trust powers. The bank underwent a name change to St. Charles Bank & Trust Company on November 4, 2006, coinciding with multiple relocations of its main office, which moved to Geneva, Illinois, in the same year, and later to another location in Saint Charles, Illinois, in July 2009. The institution expanded further through acquisitions, including the Elgin State Bank in September 2011 and First Community Bank in November 2016. On October 7, 2019, St. Charles Bank & Trust acquired Stc Capital Bank in Saint Charles, Illinois.
