Spur Security Bank was established on December 23, 1933. Initially, it became a member of the Federal Reserve System on April 17, 1940, at which point it was classified as a state-chartered bank. However, this status changed when the bank switched its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve on the same date. Over the following decades, the bank underwent further regulatory changes.
