History Of SpiritBank
SpiritBank, originally established as The American National Bank of Bristow on May 5, 1916, has undergone several name and structural changes throughout its history. In 1987, SpiritBank expanded its operations by acquiring The Citizens Bank in Drumright, Oklahoma, followed by a series of acquisitions, including First State Bank in Oilton and The First National Bank and Trust Company of Cushing in 1988. The 1990s saw continued growth, with the acquisition of Citizens Bank, National Association in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Central Oklahoma Bank in Depew, Oklahoma, both completed in 1989 and 1995, respectively. In 1996, the institution changed its name to Spiritbank, National Association. By June 1, 2000, SpiritBank evolved to a state-chartered bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, only to withdraw from membership and change its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on December 15, 2003.
