History Of Southwest Bank
Southwest Bank, originally established as T Bank on July 1, 1963, underwent several significant changes throughout its history. On October 21, 1971, the institution changed its name to Southwest Bank and modified its chartering agency to state status, withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System at that time. The bank expanded through acquisitions, including the purchase of First Bank of Saginaw in 1987 and Park West State Bank in 1991. Southwest Bank further strengthened its position by acquiring Community Bank of Texas, N.A. in 2007. In the following years, the bank transitioned its regulatory framework, becoming a state-chartered bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System. The main office of Southwest Bank was relocated multiple times, with a significant move to 4100 International Plaza Suite 900 in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 6, 2008. On February 20, 2018, Southwest Bank merged with Simmons Bank, based in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, marking the end of its independent operations.
