Southern Commercial Bank was established on June 12, 1891, initially operating under its original name. Over the years, the bank underwent several relocations, moving its main office first to 7201 South Broadway in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 6, 1973, and then to 5515 South Grand Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri, on December 31, 1973. On September 1, 1994, Southern Commercial Bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System, and on July 21, 1997, the institution changed its trust powers to full. The bank further relocated its main office to 4435 Meramec Bottom Road, Saint Louis, Missouri, on May 17, 2001. Ultimately, Southern Commercial Bank merged with Midwest BankCentre in Lemay, Missouri, on April 25, 2015, effectively ceasing its operations as an independent entity.
