Southern Bank of Tennessee, originally established as The Community Bank of East Tennessee on March 22, 1999, has undergone significant changes since its inception. On April 5, 2012, the bank transitioned to a state-chartered bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. That same day, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve. Subsequently, on July 2, 2012, the institution rebranded itself as Southern Bank of Tennessee and relocated its main office to 1499 North Mount Juliet Road in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
