Southern Bancorp Bank is a financial institution that was established on March 1, 1884, originally named Elk Horn Bank and Trust Company. Over the years, the bank has undergone several name changes and expansions, reflecting its growth and adaptation to the banking industry. In 1975, the institution withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, but in 2007, it became a member again after changing its bank class to a state-chartered bank. The bank was renamed Southern Bancorp Bank of Arkansas in 2008 and subsequently shortened its name to Southern Bancorp Bank in November 2009.
