Southcrest Bank

Southcrest Bank, National Association, was established on January 1, 1920, in Cedartown, Georgia, originally under the name The Liberty National Bank of Cedartown. Over the decades, the bank underwent several relocations, with its main office moving first on September 1, 1972, to West Avenue in Cedartown, and then to 117 West Avenue on September 17, 1973. The bank changed its trust powers to full status in 1972. In December 1990, the main office moved again to 967 North Main Street in Cedartown. Significant growth occurred in 2014 when the institution acquired Southcrest Bank in Thomaston, Bank of Chickamauga in Chickamauga, and Peachtree Bank in Maplesville, Alabama, which coincided with a name change to Southcrest Bank, National Association. The main office was relocated to 105 Saint Stephens Court, Suite A in Tyrone, Georgia, on February 28, 2014, followed by another move on May 30, 2017, to 1475 West Peachtree Street, Northeast, Suite 200 in Atlanta. Ultimately, on August 1, 2021, Southcrest Bank merged and became part of Colony Bank, headquartered in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
