South Porte Bank was established on November 19, 1956, under the original name Community State Bank of Plymouth. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes and relocations of its main office. On January 5, 1994, the bank was renamed Community Bank, followed by another name change to Community State Bank of Plymouth on November 19, 1998. The bank moved its main office to 130 West Side Square in Plymouth, Illinois, on July 18, 2006, and subsequently rebranded itself as Bellerive Bank on February 1, 2009. On May 31, 2012, the bank adopted the name South Porte Bank and relocated its main office to 701 North Court Street, Marion, Illinois, on September 4, 2012. The history of South Porte Bank concluded on July 17, 2020, when it merged with SouthernTrust Bank, based in Goreville, Illinois.
