South Georgia Banking Company is a financial institution based in Omega, Georgia. The bank originally became FDIC insured on June 11, 1970, and on the same date, it changed its name to South Georgia Banking Company. The bank experienced several key changes and acquisitions over the years. It relocated its main office to Oak Street and U.S. Highway 319 in Omega on November 27, 1972, which coincided with another name change to South Georgia Banking Company. The main office moved again on March 31, 2006, to 5515 Alabama Avenue, Omega, Georgia. That year, the bank further expanded its operations by acquiring Community National Bank in Ashburn, Georgia on December 28, 2006. South Georgia Banking Company continued its growth by acquiring the Bank of Dooly located in Vienna, Georgia on January 31, 2014. The institution underwent another name change on the same day.
