History Of Skagit Bank
Skagit Bank was established on June 16, 1958, originally under the name Skagit State Bank. The institution underwent several changes in location and name over the years, with the first significant relocation occurring on October 4, 1971, when it moved its main office to 1301 Memorial Highway in Mount Vernon, Washington. This was also the date when the bank officially changed its name to Skagit State Bank. The main office moved again to 901 South Cleveland Street in Mount Vernon on March 29, 1973. In 1981, the main office was relocated to 301 Fairhaven Avenue in Burlington, Washington, where it remained until March 19, 2015, when it moved to a new address at 301 East Fairhaven Avenue in Burlington. On April 23, 2014, the institution changed its name to Skagit Bank. Ultimately, on November 1, 2018, Skagit Bank merged with and became part of Banner Bank, based in Walla Walla, Washington.
