HISTORY OF SILVER LAKE BANK
Silver Lake Bank was established on January 1, 1909, originally under the name The Silver Lake State Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes significant to its operations and structure. On March 20, 1969, the main office was relocated to 209 Railroad Street in Silver Lake, Kansas. Subsequently, on June 29, 1978, the institution changed its name to Silver Lake Bank. In 1986, Silver Lake Bank expanded its services by acquiring First State Bank in White Cloud, Kansas. A further acquisition occurred on November 11, 1993, when it obtained Postal Savings and Loan Association in Topeka, Kansas. The main office was moved again on May 1, 1995, to 201 Northwest Highway 24 in Topeka, Kansas. The bank modified its trust powers to limited status on August 23, 2006.
