Signature Bank of Arkansas, originally established as Union State Bank on August 18, 1933, underwent several name and structural changes throughout its history. The bank changed its name to First Bank of South Arkansas on January 3, 1994. In 1998, the main office moved to Camden, Arkansas, where it remained until further relocations in 2005. That year, the institution was renamed Signature Bank of Arkansas after moving its main office twice within Fayetteville, Arkansas. In November 2006, the bank expanded its capabilities by changing its trust powers to full. On April 9, 2007, Signature Bank of Arkansas acquired the Bank of Brinkley. The institution made significant regulatory advancements on February 24, 2023, when it became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, along with classifying itself as a state-chartered bank.
