History Of Sidell State Bank
Sidell State Bank was established on January 1, 1934. Throughout its history, the institution underwent several important changes. On November 4, 1974, it officially changed its name to Sidell State Bank and relocated its main office to the intersection of Cauble and Chicago Streets in Sidell, Illinois. The bank continued to operate at this location until January 8, 2007, when its main office moved to 504 North Chicago Street, Sidell, Illinois. On January 14, 2005, Sidell State Bank expanded by acquiring the First National Bank in Homer, Illinois. However, a significant change occurred on August 14, 2015, when Sidell State Bank merged with The Edgar County Bank and Trust Company, located in Paris, Illinois. This merger ultimately led to a rebranding on August 1, 2017, when the institution changed its name to Prospect Bank.
