History Of Shore United Bank
Shore United Bank, National Association, is a financial institution based in Easton, Maryland, that has undergone several acquisitions and name changes since its establishment in June 1876 as The Centreville National Bank of Maryland. Over the years, the bank has expanded its operations through various acquisitions, including the acquisition of Kent Savings and Loan Association in April 1997 and The Felton Bank in January 2011. In December 2009, the bank changed its name to CNB and transitioned to a state-chartered bank. By July 2016, it adopted the name Shore United Bank after acquiring The Talbot Bank, at which point the main office was relocated to Easton, Maryland. A significant transformation occurred in November 2021 when the institution changed its name to Shore United Bank, National Association, and shifted its regulatory oversight to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, becoming a national bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank continued its expansion by acquiring Severn Savings Bank in October 2021 and Community Bank of the Chesapeake in July 2023.
