Sheridan State Bank was established on May 3, 1947, originally operating under the same name. On May 15, 1978, the bank moved its main office to 130 West Main Street in Sheridan, Illinois, and officially changed its name to Sheridan State Bank. In a significant expansion, the bank acquired The Whaples and Farmers State Bank located in Neponset, Illinois, on September 11, 2004. However, Sheridan State Bank's independent operation came to an end on January 22, 2016, when it merged with The Granville National Bank in Granville, Illinois.
