History Of Shelter Bank
Shelter Bank, originally established as Shelter Financial Bank on April 12, 1999, underwent several significant changes throughout its operational history. On April 28, 2003, the main office relocated to 1817 West Broadway in Columbia, Missouri. On July 21, 2011, the primary federal regulatory agency for the institution changed to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. A notable transformation occurred on March 23, 2013, when the institution changed its name to Shelter Bank, National Association, and transitioned to a commercial bank class as a national bank, becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System. However, the bank voluntarily closed and liquidated its assets on the same day, marking the end of its operations.
