Severn Savings Bank

Severn Savings Bank was established on April 4, 1949, originally named Severn Savings Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several name and structural changes, reflecting its evolution in the banking landscape. On June 30, 1987, it changed its name to Severn Savings Bank, FSB, and transitioned to a stock savings bank, with the chartering agency changed to the Office of Thrift Supervision. The bank's main office was relocated to 1917 West Street in Annapolis, Maryland, on June 15, 1994. Subsequently, on February 26, 2007, the main office was again moved to 200 Westgate Circle, Suite 200, Annapolis, Maryland. On July 21, 2011, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The institution adopted the name Severn Savings Bank, FSB dba Severn Bank on August 28, 2018. On October 31, 2021, Severn Savings Bank merged with and became part of Shore United Bank, National Association, based in Easton, Maryland. The official name change to Shore United Bank, N.A. was also implemented on November 1, 2021.
