History Of Security State Bank

Security State Bank was established on October 4, 1947, in Texas. Initially functioning as a financial institution, it underwent a significant change on April 18, 1958, when it withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its classification to a state-chartered bank, subsequently becoming regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). After several decades of operation, Security State Bank merged with Wellington State Bank on February 20, 2016, and thereby ceased to exist as an independent entity. The merger integrated its services with those of Wellington State Bank, located in Wellington, Texas.
