Security Federal Bank is a financial institution based in Aiken, South Carolina, established on January 1, 1922, originally under the name Security Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the bank underwent several organizational and structural changes. In 1986, it was rebranded as Security Federal Savings Bank of South Carolina and transitioned from a mutual savings bank to a stock savings bank. The institution officially adopted the name Security Federal Bank on April 8, 1996. Significant regulatory changes occurred on December 28, 2011, when the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), transitioned to a commercial bank, and shifted its chartering agency to the state level.
