History Of Security Bank
Security Bank was established on December 31, 1930, in Rich Hill, Missouri, originally operating under the name Security Bank of Rich Hill. Over the decades, the institution underwent several significant changes, including a withdrawal from membership in the Federal Reserve System on March 3, 1975. In June 1987, Security Bank continued operations with government assistance during a period of financial difficulty. On May 10, 1993, the bank relocated its main office to 606 East Walnut in Rich Hill. Later that year, on September 21, it officially changed its name to Security Bank. In a strategic move to expand, Security Bank acquired Hume Bank in Hume, Missouri, on March 7, 2008, as part of a government-assisted merger. The bank's independent operations concluded when it merged with Citizens Bank in Amsterdam, Missouri, on July 1, 2017.
