Scribner Bank, originally established as Farmers State Bank on August 17, 1917, underwent several significant changes throughout its history. On November 1, 1934, the institution became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its classification to a state-chartered bank. However, on December 23, 1963, Scribner Bank withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), switching its classification to a state-chartered bank, not a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank was renamed Scribner Bank on July 2, 1962. After several decades in operation, the bank's main office was relocated twice: first to Main Street in Scribner, Nebraska, on April 19, 1990, and then to 400 Main Street in Scribner, Nebraska, on March 31, 2006.
