Schertz Bank & Trust, originally established as Schertz State Bank on August 13, 1913, is a financial institution located in Schertz, Texas. The bank underwent several significant transformations over its history. On December 26, 1939, it became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its regulatory status to a state-chartered bank. In 1971, the bank withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and changed its regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The name was officially changed to Schertz Bank & Trust on March 18, 1975, and the institution acquired full trust powers shortly before that on February 12, 1975. Additionally, the main office relocated to 519 Main Street in Schertz, Texas, on April 29, 1974. Most recently, on September 14, 1989, Schertz Bank & Trust acquired Kirby State Bank in Kirby, Texas.
