HISTORY OF S BANK
S Bank was established on July 1, 1937, under the original name Citizens Bank. The bank experienced a name change to First Citizens Bank on April 7, 1970, and later relocated its main office to 205 South Main Street in Glennville, Georgia, on November 30, 1970. In subsequent years, the institution underwent further changes, including a rebranding to State Bank and Trust Company on December 31, 2016, and a merger with State Bank and Trust Company, also in Macon, Georgia, on the same date. On October 1, 2012, the bank changed its name to S Bank, and on January 1, 2019, it merged with Cadence Bank, N.A., located in Atlanta, Georgia. Finally, on October 29, 2021, S Bank changed its name to Cadence Bank and merged with BancorpSouth Bank in Tupelo, Mississippi.
