Ruby Valley Bank was established in 1917 under the name The First National Bank of Twin Bridges. The bank underwent several name changes over the years, including becoming the First National Bank of Twin Bridges in 1947 and Ruby Valley National Bank in 1991, the same year it acquired the Bank of Sheridan in Sheridan, Montana, and relocated its main office to 107 South Main Street in Twin Bridges, Montana. In 2016, the institution changed its name to Ruby Valley Bank, shifted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and transitioned to a state chartered bank, withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System. On February 1, 2018, Ruby Valley Bank merged with Opportunity Bank of Montana, located in Helena, Montana, marking the end of its independent operations.
