Royal Banks of Missouri, established on November 8, 1965, originally operated under the name Citizens Bank of University City. Over the decades, the institution underwent several name changes and acquisitions. In 1982, it became known as Royal Bank Mid-County, and by December 4, 1987, it adopted the name Royal Banks of Missouri. The bank expanded its operations significantly, acquiring Royal Bank-West Side National Association in Glendale, Missouri, on October 26, 1987, followed by the purchase of Frontenac Bank in Earth City, Missouri, on July 9, 2016. On the same date, the bank officially changed its name to Royal Banks of Missouri. The bank's growth continued with the acquisition of Saints Avenue Bank in New London, Missouri, on July 30, 2021. That same day, Royal Banks of Missouri relocated its main office to 8021 Olive Boulevard in University City, Missouri.
