History Of Royal Bank America
Royal Bank America was established on December 5, 1963, under the name Bank of King of Prussia. The institution underwent several name changes throughout its history; on September 14, 1973, it became known as Bank of King of Prussia, and later on December 19, 1980, it changed its name to Royal Bank of Pennsylvania. On April 1, 2004, the bank changed its institution name to Royal Bank America and reclassified itself as a commercial bank, becoming a state-chartered bank not a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank expanded its operations in 1995 by acquiring Knoblauch State Bank in Reading, Pennsylvania, and on June 29, 1995, it moved its main office to 732 Montgomery Avenue, Narberth, Pennsylvania. Royal Bank America eventually merged with The Bryn Mawr Trust Company in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, on December 15, 2017.
