HISTORY OF ROCKY MOUNTAIN BANK

Rocky Mountain Bank was a financial institution that underwent several transformations throughout its history. Originally established under the name Western Bank of Billings in Montana, the bank changed its name on July 18, 1994, to Rocky Mountain Bank. During the same year, the bank acquired multiple financial institutions, including Security State Bank locations in Harlem and Plentywood, Montana; Powder River Bank in Broadus, Montana; Rocky Mountain Bank of Plains in Plains, Montana; First State Bank of Stevensville in Stevensville, Montana; and The Whitehall State Bank in Whitehall, Montana. In 1996, Rocky Mountain Bank relocated its main office to 2615 King Avenue West in Billings, Montana, and later withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System on January 7, 2005. The bank transitioned to a state-chartered institution under the regulation of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) the same day. In June 2007, Rocky Mountain Bank changed its trust powers to full trust powers. On July 14, 2023, Rocky Mountain Bank merged with and became part of HTLF Bank, which is based in Denver, Colorado.
