Initially functioning as a member of the Federal Reserve System, the bank underwent a series of regulatory changes, including a shift to a state-chartered bank classification in 1936. On June 11, 1936, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, becoming a member of the system. After withdrawing from the Federal Reserve membership in 1963, the bank transitioned to being regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), which became its primary regulatory agency on November 6, 1963. The main office was relocated to 133 North John Street in Rochester, Illinois on April 12, 1976. In a significant development, Rochester State Bank merged with American Bank of Missouri on July 9, 2021.
