Republic Bank

Republic Bank, originally established as Republic Bank on September 6, 1988, is a financial institution that underwent several name and structural changes throughout its history. In 1996, the bank was renamed First Republic Bank following the acquisition of First Executive Bank, and then reverted to Republic First Bank in August 2001. On May 18, 2012, it adopted the name Republic Bank again and relocated its main office to 50 South 16th Street, Suite 2400 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in December 2003 and subsequently withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. In June 2007, the main office was again moved to the same Philadelphia address. However, on April 26, 2024, Republic Bank failed and subsequently merged with government financial assistance.
