History Of Reelfoot Bank
Reelfoot Bank was established on August 2, 1904, originally bearing the name Reelfoot Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes, including its location and regulatory status. On November 26, 1973, the main office was moved to Main Street in Hornbeak, Tennessee. Subsequently, on December 29, 1989, Reelfoot Bank acquired Dukedom Bank and relocated its main office to U.S. Highway 45 and State Highway 22 in Union City, Tennessee. The bank continued to expand, and on November 13, 2001, it changed its trust powers to full status and acquired Fulton Bank in Fulton, Kentucky. By December 27, 2005, Reelfoot Bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and became a state-chartered bank, further cementing its membership in the Federal Reserve System. The main office was moved again on March 31, 2006, to 1491 South First Street in Union City, Tennessee. Ultimately, on March 25, 2017, Reelfoot Bank merged with and became part of Security Bank and Trust Company, based in Paris, Tennessee.
