History Of RBC Bank
RBC Bank, officially known as RBC Bank (Georgia) National Association, is a financial institution that was established on August 30, 1985, under the name First Bank of Baldwin County. The bank underwent several name changes and acquisitions over the years. Notably, on August 15, 1997, it changed its name to Citizens and People's Bank, National Association, and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. The institution continued to evolve and on December 31, 1998, it acquired the Community Bank of Naples, National Association. The bank adopted the name First Gulf Bank, National Association on March 18, 2005, following the acquisition of First Gulf Bank in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This name was later changed to RBC Bank on August 27, 2009, coinciding with the acquisition of Centura Card Bank in Norcross, Georgia. That same day, the main office was relocated to 75 Fifth Street Northwest, Suite 900, Atlanta, Georgia.
