PyraMax Bank is a financial institution in the United States with a history dating back to its establishment in 1892 as the South Milwaukee Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes and organizational transformations. In 1990, it became South Milwaukee Savings Bank, S.A., and later changed its name to South Milwaukee Savings Bank in 1993. That same year, the bank transitioned to a mutual savings bank and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In 2000, it acquired Mitchell Savings Bank, located in Greenfield, Wisconsin, and subsequently rebranded as PyraMax Bank, S.S.B. on April 30, 2000. On April 1, 2003, the institution was renamed PyraMax Bank, FSB, and adopted a federal savings bank charter under the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). The bank moved its main office to 7001 West Edgerton Avenue, Greenfield, Wisconsin on the same date.
