History Of Provident Bank
Provident Bank, originally established as The Provident Institution for Savings in Jersey City, New Jersey, on February 28, 1839, has undergone significant transformations throughout its history. In 1970, it changed its name to Provident Savings Bank, and in 2000, it adopted the name The Provident Bank. A series of acquisitions began in the late 20th century, including Mutual Aid Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1991 and Monarch Bank, FSB in 1998. The bank continued its expansion by acquiring several other financial institutions, such as First Savings Bank in 2004 and Team Capital Bank in 2014. On October 1, 2016, the organization rebranded itself as Provident Bank. More recently, Provident Bank strengthened its market presence by acquiring Sb One Bank on July 31, 2020, and Lakeland Bank on May 16, 2024. Additionally, it moved its main office to 239 Washington Street in Jersey City, New Jersey, on the same day as the Sb One Bank acquisition.

The provident is the most incompetent bank... I have experience with them since 2011... Absolutely horrible. Ruthless crooks.
