Providence Bank

Providence Bank, originally established as the Bank of Lincoln County on July 8, 1888, underwent several transformations throughout its history. In 1986, the bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System but later rejoined on March 15, 2005, when it also became a state-chartered bank. The bank underwent a name change to Providence Bank on September 11, 2007. Over the following years, Providence Bank expanded its operations through acquisitions, including the purchase of Premier Bank in Jefferson City, Missouri, on October 15, 2010, as part of a government-assisted merger, and Community First Bank in Fairview Heights, Illinois, on July 1, 2015. The bank's main office relocated multiple times, settling at 3855 Forum Boulevard in Columbia, Missouri, on October 15, 2010. On May 14, 2021, Providence Bank merged with First Mid Bank & Trust, National Association, based in Mattoon, Illinois, marking the end of its independent operations.
