Our Mom had two checking accounts - personal and farm. We purposefully left these open when she passed away to pay bills until the estate settled. With zero notification (email, phone, or letter) to her or my sister who was also on the accounts, Prosperity froze the account. Esssential services on autopay (electric, water, phone) were returned unpaid. We weren't even able to view the accounts online anymore. This is terrible customer service and at the worst time when the family is dealing with so many other things.
Zero Stars os what I would give. Banked here several years. It's went downhill the past 3 years. Probably due to the terrible management and banking practices. They play game "holding deposits" to purposely try and cause overdrafts and nsf for fees. Each time I ask why in the drive thru I'm given a different reason. Even checks written to me on their own bank! They should simply put signs up saying "all deposits will be held for 2days for any reason we choose" that would clear it up for me. One day I put a check in for $1200. They held it. The same day I put an out town check for $21,000 in and it posted immediately lol. Nothing makes sense. I've banked here many years and I now see a pattern of policies that are hostile to small businesses and habitual to gain fees! I've opened accounts elsewhere and they don't do that at all. Don't consider this bank. Run!
I am very disappointed in the customer service with Prosperity Bank. I have been a customer through acquisitions for over 26 years. Seems like with each acquisition, their customer service is getting worse. Now that LegacyTexas is under Prosperity Bank, I cannot stand dealing with them. The branch employees in Frisco are rude. I have over 8 accounts with them and if it was easy, I would move everything out to another bank. I would not recommend this bank to anyone.
I want to warn anyone with a Trust account, or anyone who is a POA for a Trust account belonging to an elderly parent. This banking experience has been the most frustrating thing when anything needed to be changed. I had been warned that Prosperity Bank is difficult when there is a death, but it also was certainly difficult for the person left behind!! Even though they had ALL paperwork of the trust and had added all the documents to prove that I could conduct business on my parents behalf, they could NEVER identify me on the phone. I expected that information to be linked, so that the hassle of proving myself as legal user could be seen on their screens. If the elderly cannot count on Prosperity Bank to follow their directives while they still can make their decisions, it simply is not right to claim that they will. Once they cannot speak for themselves, it is impossible for the POA to "get permission" to be spoken to!! So frustrating!!
My parents had safety deposit boxes there as well, paid annually. When I closed the boxes and checking account, the manager told me that the deposit was not returned if closed at the "end" of the year. Is September the end of the year?? No, by my calculations, there is still a quarter of the year left! Yet the rent on the boxes is taken as an annual rent.
So please beware and know you will need to change banks before your elderly loved ones become unable to do their own banking!
Prosperity Bank in Aransas Pass lie 2 us and tell us they have no machine 2 cash SSI debit advance. So everyone is forced 2 drive 2 Rockport because Prosperity is lieng and discriminate against disabled.

Hi My name is Tina L. Garcia. I live in Austin Tex and have been with Prosperty Bank for about ten years at this moment. I am having some issues with bank manager refuseing to understand the issue I am having with my debt card. My card has been in a few occasions has been hacked from online use y paying bills and not on line buying things and they blame me for those issue. I am 62 years old with a disability and need a card to take care of bisness like paying my bills. The refusal of the bank is not acceptable to me it has gotten to this point that I had to send my message out to yal. I feel that the bank is discriminating me and my rights. I have been in conflict with bank manger several times and once with the police when a staff member was helping me out and he came to the desk of the staff memeber wanting to talk to me and i repley Ed to him that I was being taken care of but he refused to walk away and would not leave me alone. After severe try's of telling him I did not need his help so I hope that some one listens to my Tex message and can reach out to me and explain why I am being refused a chip debt card. I am sure with all that is going on in the world that I am not the only one going threw somthing like I am if this matter can't be solved I would have to close my account and do bisness else where but being a customer for 10 yrs I would think I wouldn't have to be going threw this but I am and I am wondering what kind of bank I am dealing with after all these yrs. Thank you for yourr time.
I had a horrible experience with the new manager at the Wylie branch on may 4, 2022. I have multiple accounts and she was rude and would not notarize paperwork from my attorney. She would not help me with unauthorized service charges on my accounts either. I drove to the Allen branch and had no issues with my requests. Kelly was great! Ridiculous! Customer service should be something a bank takes pride in... If Ashley Sewell worked for me i would fire her!
Poorest service I have ever experience with a bank and have been using business banking for 45 years. Can't see how they can continue to exist.
Great bank Been there for over 25 yrs with multiple business accounts. Several smart and friendly people white and black work there. Commuters parking and leaving cars all day is a problem. Stop being a childish race baiter
I have been banking with prosperity bank for over 20 years and have no complaints what so ever. THE Bank in Navasota Texas
Slow drive up service. Tried to make a deposit using my debit card, but they are not set up for that. Waiting on a teller took forever.
Prosperity Bank Crockett has got to be the sorriest excuse for a bank there is...
An African American friend of mine who is a patron of your Red Oak branch was parked while waiting for your bank to open and this is how she was treated. I'm white and I'm positive I wouldn't have been singled out and addressed in this way. This is what it means to park while black and bank while black with your branch apparently. Please address this with your employees and to those who use this bank be wary that they discriminate and have implicit bias against their patrons of color:
"I was parked at Prosperity Bank in Red Oak a minute ago waiting for it to open. I was reading on my phone. A woman employee came out and very angrily and aggressively said "This is bank parking. You need to move."
I was so startled I didn't respond. Then she said "I have more workers coming. I need this parking spot. You need to move."
I wasn't parked in employee parking or any other marked parking spot. I stopped counting at 31 empty parking spaces in their lot including seven empty spaces behind the building where I'm assuming the other employees were parked.
Want to take any guesses why she approached my car in an empty parking lot and started telling me what to do without asking me any questions?" - Dee Dee
I was in this bank today and it felt like we had known each other forever. Very friendly atmosphere, clean and I didn't have to wait long to be seen. Customer Service is a winner. I would recommend them to anyone.
