Prospect Bank is a financial institution that was established on March 23, 1873, originally named The Edgar County National Bank. Located in Paris, Illinois, the bank underwent several significant changes throughout its history. In 1968, it changed its name to The Edgar County National Bank and Trust Company. The bank transitioned to state chartering on February 24, 1970, and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System on the same day. Later that year, on October 21, the main office was relocated to 101-107 West Wood Street in Paris, Illinois, and it obtained full trust powers. Over the following decades, the institution continued to expand, moving its main office again on February 22, 2000, to 177 West Wood Street in Paris. Notable acquisitions included Kansas State Bank in Kansas, Illinois, on January 28, 1998; The First National Bank of Gilman in Gilman, Illinois, on December 11, 2009; and Sidell State Bank in Sidell, Illinois, on August 14, 2015.
