PrimeSouth Bank was established on September 2, 1958, under the name The Peoples Bank of Carrville. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes and relocations. On November 15, 1976, it became known as The Peoples Bank, and on April 7, 2004, it changed its name to PrimeSouth Bank. In 1985, the main office was moved to 301 Main Street in Tallassee, Alabama.
