Premier Bank, Inc. was established on June 27, 1998, originally named Boone County Bank, Inc. The institution underwent significant changes and expansions over the years, including a series of acquisitions. On April 8, 2011, Premier Bank acquired several banks, including Adams National Bank in Washington, D.C., Consolidated Bank and Trust Company in Richmond, Virginia, Traders Bank in Ravenswood, West Virginia, and First Central Bank, Inc. in Philippi, West Virginia. On the same day, Premier Bank also changed its name to Premier Bank, Inc. The bank continued to expand its footprint by acquiring Bank of Gassaway in Gassaway, West Virginia, on April 5, 2014, followed by the acquisition of First National Bank in Ronceverte, West Virginia, on March 4, 2016. In October 2018, Premier Bank further expanded by acquiring First Bank of Charleston, Inc. in Charleston, West Virginia. Ultimately, on September 18, 2021, Premier Bank merged and became part of Peoples Bank, located in Marietta, Ohio.
