Premier Bank, originally established as First Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1920, has undergone a series of transformations throughout its history. In 1993, the institution changed its name to First Federal Savings and Loan, a stock savings and loan, marking a shift in its organizational structure. By the year 2000, it rebranded as First Federal Bank of the Midwest. The bank expanded its operations through several acquisitions, including the purchase of The Commercial Bank in 2005 and Bank of Lenawee in 2008. In 2011, Premier Bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. A significant transition occurred in January 2020 when the bank acquired Home Savings Bank in Youngstown, Ohio, and subsequently changed its institution name to Premier Bank on June 19, 2020.
