History Of Preferred Bank
Preferred Bank was established on January 14, 1985, originally under the name Preferred Savings Association. On April 5, 1994, the institution underwent significant changes, including a name change to Preferred Bank, fsb, and the transition to a stock savings bank. Additionally, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) and its chartering agency to OTS on the same day. The institution was later renamed simply Preferred Bank on March 28, 1996. On July 21, 2011, Preferred Bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Eventually, on October 4, 2019, Preferred Bank merged and became part of Texas First Bank, located in Texas City, Texas.
