Post Oak Bank, originally established on July 30, 2004, under the name Post Oak Bank, N.A., was located in Houston, Texas. On March 31, 2006, the institution formally adopted the name Post Oak Bank, N.A. The bank expanded its operations through acquisitions, including the purchase of Security State Bank in Anahuac, Texas, on December 1, 2015, and The State Bank of Texas in Houston, Texas, on April 1, 2017.
