Port Richmond Savings is a financial institution that was originally established as Windthorst Warsaw Savings Association on January 1, 1919. Initially, the institution was not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). On November 21, 1988, it changed its name to Windthorst Warsaw Savings, and later, on January 1, 1991, it adopted the name Port Richmond Savings. The main office of the institution was moved to 2522 East Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 13, 1992. In a strategic move to expand its operations, Port Richmond Savings acquired Gorgas Savings Association located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 30, 1999.
