Points West Community Bank has a history that dates back to its establishment in January 1906 as The First National Bank of Julesburg in Julesburg, Colorado. Over the decades, the institution underwent several significant changes, including a name change to First National Bank in August 2001 and a relocation of its main office to 100 East Third Street in Julesburg. The bank continued to expand through acquisitions, including the purchase of Sedgwick County Bank in Julesburg in November 1986 and Haxtun Community Bank in Haxtun, Colorado, in March 2004. In April 2008, the bank rebranded itself as Points West Community Bank and transitioned its regulatory oversight to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) while withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System. Significant growth continued with the acquisition of Signature Bank in Windsor, Colorado, in July 2011 as part of a government-assisted merger.
