History Of PNA Bank

PNA Bank was established in 1891 as Preferred Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several name and organizational changes. It became Preferred Savings Bank in 1993 and transitioned to a mutual savings bank. In 1996, the bank changed its regulatory framework, becoming a stock savings bank and aligning with the Office of Thrift Supervision. The institution adopted the name Alliance Fsb following its acquisition of Alliance Fsb in Niles, Illinois, in November 2001. Subsequent to this, the bank rebranded itself as PNA Bank in July 2007, marking another shift in its identity. The main office was moved multiple times, with notable relocations to 4800 South Pulaski Road in Chicago, Illinois, in 2009 and again in 2010. The bank's regulatory agency changed to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in July 2011. Ultimately, PNA Bank ceased to exist as an independent entity when it merged with Peoples Bank in Munster, Indiana, on January 31, 2022, having previously merged with Royal Savings Bank in Chicago, Illinois, on September 30, 2015.
