Pioneer Bank & Trust is a financial institution established on August 30, 1937, originally under the name Bank of Belle Fourche. The bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System on September 27, 1938, and was classified as a State Chartered Bank at that time. Over the years, it underwent several changes, including a name change to Pioneer Bank & Trust on January 2, 1986, and the acquisition of First State Bank in Buffalo, South Dakota, on July 17, 1989. On November 24, 2008, the main office was relocated to 700 State Street in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. On March 28, 2011, the bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and altered its classification to that of a State Chartered Bank, no longer a member of the Federal Reserve System.
