Pioneer Bank of Wisconsin was established on July 23, 1920, originally named The Pioneer National Bank of Ladysmith. Throughout its history, the bank underwent significant changes, particularly on June 24, 2005, when it rebranded as Pioneer Bank of Wisconsin, withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, and became chartered as a state bank under the supervision of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). After over a decade of operations under this name, Pioneer Bank of Wisconsin merged with Security Financial Bank based in Durand, Wisconsin, on July 14, 2018, concluding its independent existence.
