Peoples State Bank was established on September 12, 1927, in Summit, South Dakota. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes in its operational location, moving its main office to Main Street in Summit on September 30, 1989, and then to 401 Maple Street in Summit on March 31, 2006. The bank continued to operate until it merged with Minnwest Bank on November 16, 2018. Following the merger, Peoples State Bank ceased to exist as an independent institution and became part of Minnwest Bank, which is based in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.
