History Of Peoples State Bank of Commerce
Peoples State Bank of Commerce was established on June 1, 1916, under the original name Bank of Commerce. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes. On November 1, 1971, it transitioned its trust powers to full and moved its main office to High and Eaton Streets in Trenton, Tennessee. In January 2002, the bank acquired another entity and subsequently changed its name to Peoples State Bank of Commerce on March 11, 2002. The bank later relocated its main office twice within Nolensville, Tennessee, first on January 23, 2006, and again on May 19, 2008. On May 1, 2017, Peoples State Bank of Commerce merged with FNB Bank in Scottsboro, Alabama. The bank continued its evolution and, on October 29, 2021, changed its name to Cadence Bank after merging with BancorpSouth Bank in Tupelo, Mississippi.
